The homes

Three tiny homes in Ljubljana, each 24 m².

The same compact plan, the same quiet materials, and a different sleeping arrangement in each. All three are ground-floor homes with their own entrance and a private terrace.

01 — The plan

A small footprint, properly thought through.

Each home is a single-storey mobile home built from a pale wood and dark composite shell. Inside, 24 m² is divided into a living and dining area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Nothing is hidden behind a sofa bed; the rooms are separate, with doors that close.

The kitchenette runs along one wall: fridge, stovetop, kettle, toaster, cookware, plates and a dining table for four. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The terrace adds another 15 m² outside, reached through the glass doors from the living area.

Heating and air conditioning are included, the floors are parquet, and the windows are large enough to make the small rooms feel generous. The three homes differ mainly in how the second bedroom is made up, and in how much covered outdoor space sits outside the door.

01 — Sleeps 4 · double + twin

The Garden Home

The home for two couples, with a twin room and a terrace on the planted side of the courtyard.

The Garden Home is arranged around a short hallway: double bedroom on one side, twin bedroom on the other, bathroom between them. It is the most flexible layout for friends or two couples, because neither room is obviously the children’s room.

The living area holds a sofa, a dining table for four and the kitchenette. Glass doors open to the private terrace, where a table and chairs face the planted edge of the courtyard. The young conifer in the middle of the paving is the closest thing to a garden — hence the name.

02 — Sleeps 4 · covered lounge terrace

The Terrace Home

A double and a twin room, with a deep covered terrace lounge.

The Terrace Home is the one with the wide covered lounge: a sofa, two armchairs and a low table under the roof overhang. It extends the living room outdoors, which matters in spring and autumn when the weather is good but not quite guaranteed.

Inside, the two bedrooms sit at the quiet end of the plan, away from the entrance. The kitchenette and dining table are immediately inside the door, so shopping goes straight from the car to the fridge without crossing the living area.

03 — Sleeps 4 · double + bunk

The Family Home

A double room and a bunk room, with the courtyard and a pizzeria 150 metres away.

The Family Home swaps the twin room for bunk beds, which leaves more floor space for bags, toys and the general debris of travelling with children. The bathroom is directly beside the bunk room, and the entrance is at ground level with no steps.

The terrace is enclosed by the courtyard, so children can move between the table and the door without reaching the street. Gostilna Kaval, a relaxed restaurant and pizzeria, is 150 metres away for the nights when cooking is not part of the plan.
