02 — The idea

Three tiny homes, one quiet courtyard.

Ljubljana Tiny Homes is a small place on the edge of Šentvid, where the city thins out and the road begins to climb towards Šmarna gora. There are only three homes here, arranged around a paved courtyard with a young conifer at its centre. No lobby, no corridors, no queue at breakfast.

Each home measures 24 m² and follows the same calm plan: a kitchenette and dining table at the entrance, a sofa under the window, two bedrooms and a bathroom behind. Sliding glass doors open onto a private 15 m² terrace with outdoor furniture. The floors are parquet, the walls are pale wood, and the only sound at night is the neighbourhood.

It is a place built for people who want Ljubljana within reach without sleeping in the middle of it. Come for a morning on Šmarna gora, a day in the old town, or simply a quiet week with the windows open.

04 — What is here

Small house, few surprises.

Everything you need for a few nights, and nothing you have to pretend to enjoy. The list is short because the homes are small — and because the point is to spend your time outside.

Please note: there is no television in the homes. Smoking is not permitted indoors, and bachelor or bachelorette parties are not accepted.

06 — Where you are

City on one side, forest on the other.

The homes sit on Medenska cesta in Šentvid, a residential district in the north-west of Ljubljana. It is the last built-up stretch before the land rises towards Šmarna gora, the wooded hill that locals climb before work and on Sunday afternoons.

The centre is 6.5 kilometres away — about twelve minutes by car, or a straightforward bus ride if you leave the car parked. The airport is thirteen kilometres in the other direction, which makes the place unusually practical for a first or last night in Slovenia. Tivoli Park, Ljubljana Castle and the old town are all within a fifteen-minute drive; Lake Bled is fifty-five kilometres north-west.

07 — Days out

Three good ways to spend a day.

You can walk to the trailhead, be in the old town for coffee, or drive to Bled before the coaches arrive. These are the plans we suggest most often.

Six day plans from the doorstep

01

Šmarna gora at sunrise

2.5 km to the trailhead · 5 min drive

Leave before six, park at the foot of the hill and walk up through beech woods to the church on top. On a clear morning the whole Ljubljana basin is below you.

02

Ljubljana old town in a day

6.5 km · 12 min drive

Park at Tivoli, walk along the Ljubljanica, cross the Triple Bridge and climb to the castle. Market, coffee, lunch, and nowhere you need to rush.

03

Bled and Vintgar

55 km · 45 min drive

An early start makes all the difference. Walk the lake path before the crowds, then follow the Vintgar gorge boardwalk through the Radovna valley.

09 — Good to know

Questions before you book.

All questions and answers
01How far is Ljubljana city centre?

Six and a half kilometres, or about twelve minutes by car. City buses also run from Šentvid to the centre; the stop is a short walk from the homes.

02Is parking really free?

Yes. There is free private parking on site, one space per home, behind the gate. You do not need to pay or reserve a space in advance.

03How many people fit in one home?

Up to four guests, in two separate bedrooms. Each home also has one bathroom and a private 15 m² terrace.

04Do you allow pets?

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, for a small fee. Please tell us when you enquire so we can allocate the right home and prepare the courtyard.

05Is there a television?

No. There is no TV in any of the homes — it is a deliberate choice. There is WiFi, a dining table and a sofa, and the courtyard is a better screen.

06How does check-in work?

Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:59, with self check-in and key access. We send the arrival details before your stay. Check-out is between 06:00 and 10:00.

07Is the property quiet at night?

It is a residential street, and quiet hours are 22:00–06:00. Bachelor and bachelorette parties are not accepted, so the courtyard stays calm.

08Can I book directly with you?

Yes — and it is the cheapest way. Send the enquiry form or message us on WhatsApp; we reply personally, usually within a few hours.
